QPR: Suicide Prevention Training

The Office of Student Counseling & Wellness Services (SC&WS) at Texas A&M University-San Antonio welcomes you to participant in our Suicide Prevention Training (Q.P.R.) on Thursday, June 27th from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. The training will take place on campus. Our address is One University Way, San Antonio, Texas 78224. The training will be held in Modular 101, Classroom 101A. (Note: Please be sure to provide an accurate email address below in order to receive an updated campus map by June 27th.)

Based on the topic and the desire to have more trained Suicide Prevention Gatekeepers, SC&WS invites community entities to attend this workshop. Please note however, SC&WS prioritizes students, faculty and staff; therefore, community entities may not receive all of the training materials.

Q.P.R. stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer - 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.  Individuals trained in Q.P.R. will learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer this person to the appropriate help. Each year thousands of people, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, classmate, student, sibling, or neighbor.
